After researching for a little, some have done it with no issues, others don't recommend it. I guess it's one of those situations to where it depends on the driver lol. And as for the shocks, I installed them when I did the lift. They're brand new Rough Country hydro shocks.

that could be another reason to the "rough" ride. when money allows you should look into some bilstein shocks

hey man just found this thread and ive been reading it. im running the IRO 6.5 long arm lift with the rusty's 6.5 leaf pack in place of the IRO leafs/shackles. i bought leaf box sliders from liquid iron industries and now everything works like a dream. i get great flex front and rear and my on road ride is noce. i also agree bilsteins are nice but i went to advanced after some research and bought a set of monroe shocks(thats who makes OME shocks) and the ride and flex is great. since its ur dd ild take the time to do it once and do it right otherwise u might end up spending more oney in the long run trying to fix the cheap fixes... just my thoughts

Oh really? Do you think this would be better than relocators? I know they're a bit more money but if they're worth it, I'm down. Are you worried about them breaking? And how long have you been running them? Think they'll wear out?

no i dont see them breaking the only thing that can wear out is the teflon/nylon slider which would be easy to make urself. ive had them from 6 months with some hard wheeling and i have no issue at all im glad i did it. way better than the revolver shackles i used to use in terms of onroad ride.......heres the link http://www.liquidironindustries.com/...2&cat=0&page=1

Hmm.. I'd gain a better ride with the sliders, opposed to the shackle relocators, right? Debating between the two. Also, I think I'm going to stick with getting drop brackets, then going from there. I try to wheel as much as possible, but it is a DD, so ride quality has to be decent. If I go with drop brackets, do you think a 17'' LCA is too long, and that I should get an adjustable? And can my UCA remain stock (like 15-16'' or so)?

I'm going to save some money and not get the leaf sliders lol. I'm going to pickup a shackle relocation kit then go from there. If I go with the RC one, I can use my stock shackle, right? Is the HD Offroad better? About the same price I believe.. Hopefully this helps my rough ride/flex issue..

May have missed it..but whats your shackle angle?

If your going for a smoother ride..your gonna wanna invest in
CADs (ive seen you trolling threads for them) ..they will help
Long arms are the REAL solution.
GOOD shocks...Bilsteins (5100s, 5125s, 5150s, 7100s...)
If your shackle angle is off then your gonna wanna loose some arch, get an extended shackle, and get that angle back at 45*

It's the stock setup, so it's pretty bad. I approached this very noob-like, but I'm learning, haha. Can I use my stock shackle on the RC relocation kit? Or should I get a better shackle to help improve it? And I am strongly considering CADs, just since they're cheap, will greatly improve my ride, help with flex and be almost as good as long arms (aside from clearance) and I can hold off on long arms for a while. I'd rather invest that $650 in engine work or something, you know? I also will probably look into new shocks.. I thought these RC ones would be nice. Maybe I'll buy a Bilstein every week I get a check haha.

Also, my tire pressure is 35PSI, you think going down to 24 will improve my ride? I also don't have very good traction on wet roads, but I am running MTs, I just don't know if lower PSI will give me a little more traction.

Thanks for helping me learn lol

Checkout botakbengs build thread. If I remember right you can't use the stock shackle with the rc relocators. I'm not 100% on that tho

OK, no big deal if I can't. A buddy of mine just said I could only with the RC, but it doesn't matter.

I am sure some people may have touched on some of this. But o well i have the Rusty's 6.5" short arm kit . I am pretty please with it so far, Ride isnt bad not much different than when it was stock. When i installed the lift...... I did encounter a few snags. The first being the usual rear upper shock bolt stud issue. That wasnt too bad. The leaf spring bolts were a different story, especially the front ones. The bolts were siezed and rusted to the metal sleeve that goes through the front leaf spring bushing. I had to use a die grinder to cut the leaf spring apart, and hammer the bolts out of the front leaf spring bushings.Use lots of PB Blaster days before the lift.
