I dont see what year your cherokee is. Mine is a 1988 renix and 4.88 with 33's was a perfect combination. I wouldnt hesitate to try it with 32's. gives you the ability to move to bigger tires in the future as well,

4.88's with 265/75/16(32's) was doable in my XJ, great in town but 70mph tops interstate. she was really screaming.
4.88's with 35's is a perfect combo in my MJ. 75mph tops plenty of grunt in town and will happily cruise on the interstate.

Good to see some of these hints/tips......probably going to stick with the 4.88s I just got instead of selling them for 4.56s.....got a 6” lift on 33s and don’t need to go 70mph.......final gear ratio ends up around 4.15.....mpg sucks but not a daily ......and leaves me with the option to go to 35s.....someone screenshot their tach on flat surface going 65mph on 33’s and post it please......just curios to see the rpms vs projected math of the rpms......thanks in advance if someone does it!
