Default crazy aw4 have changed tcu and tps

hi new to the forum.. i have an 89 with an aw4 i have a tranny that likes to randomly jump into first gear and not come out till i turn it off and on a couple of times . i have changed the tcu and now the tps and i have good fluid level. i have been dealing with this for about 1 1/2 years and it does it once or twice a week and more when its cold... any ideas

my be electrical check the wiring for shorts

you could need some tranny work

i had aamco check it out a while ago and they said my tranny looks great like it has 30,000 on it and they were unable to duplicae the problem. the dealership says it is probably something external and electrical. i am going to look into the the VSS . i did not see any loose or bare wires

check the ''kickdown cable'' that goes from the throttle body to the tranny if thats out of adjustment it will shift wierd.

Cool tps

is your tps in adjustment? check your wires with a volt meter your d wire is your negative then check the other 2 one should be right at 5 volts and the other to be perfect would be at 4.15 or 83% of that value....

Also check for good ground on the tps...this could be your issue.
