Default 1996+ Intake Manifold on 1995 and older

So I've read about this swap and decided to jump in. Then once I had it all bolted together I found that the belt routing is slightly different.
I bought a replacement serpentine belt for a 97 and did not even have to remove the original idler pulley.

Other things you will/might need to do to make this work:
The #6 runner on the intake manifold and exhaust manifold were hitting enough that the intake would not go on. I did have to grind it down on the bottom until it all fit.

The pre-1996 power steering pump bracket will not work. You need the bracket and bolts from a 1996+ as well.

You don't NEED the power steering pump but the pulley on the 1996+ does have holes to slide longer bolts through. Without the holes you would have to remove the pulley, mount it all up then put the pulley back on. Or do like I did and drill a large enough hole to fit the bolts through. I also drilled out the threads from the power steering pump so the longer bolts would just slide through.

Also, the vacuum lines will have to be moved around a bit. Some are too short now and the hose diameters are too small to fit in the barbs of the new manifold.

I had to install a new exhaust manifold anyway so I was already there and I do plan on other 'upgrades' later that I hope will be helped with this manifold (also have a bored TB). I don't know how much life is in this engine so once it goes I'm thinking maybe a stroker.
As far as why (true or not I did it anyway):

But, I see you're very knowledgeable in these (your web page has tons of great info, thanks for all the time and effort!!) - do my diagrams look correct?

I put a 99+ intake on my renix. I don't remember the exact belt routing, but I know there is a piece on the timing cover that needed shaved off, and I used the AC bracket off of a 99. The reason I did it was for the HO head. I was rebuilding my renix and the renix heads are known to flow less so I swapped in a HO head, HO TB (which is a lot bigger of a bore), newer style adjuster which I like a lot better, and it easily deletes the egr without a plate.

You guys ever read this?

HO myth buster

Renix in 90 made 182 HP. HO in 91 made 190 HP. That's 8 HP difference.

HO only made more HP than Renix at higher RPMs and not a bit more torque. HO had a 58 mm throttle body versus a 52 mm throttle body on a Renix. That’s 20% more air available through the HO throttle body. The HO also had a better design header. See where I'm going with this?

It’s only a 4% horsepower increase…..

The whole 8HP was not mostly from the head, but from the bigger TB and better exhaust manifold.

Put a 60mm TB from www.strokedjeep.com on your present manifold using the Renix head, eliminate the "crush" in your headpipe with proper re-routing, and go for it.

HO stands for Highly Overrated.
