That tapping/ticking sound is just a characteristic of the 4.0L engine... Piston slap and lifters.
Quote: The other day I replaced all the connecting rod bearings from under the jeep thinking that was doing the horrible knocking. And today I discovered it was a loose torque converter bolts (1 was loose and knocking) and tightened it.. engine is super quiet. Except for the lifter tap that comes and goes randomly. (221,6XX miles)
Yep, that darn ticking/knocking. When I replaced the rockers with rollers most of it went away it seemed, but it is still there, just almost imperceptible. When I recently replaced the oil pump on my rig I thought that the clearance between the pump body and the crank journal was an issue and that THAT may be causing some random knocking, but that comes and goes as well. At the end of the day I am just living with the random knocks and pings that my 260K mile old 4.0 produces.
Now that I'm back (see above) it's back to work on a 3rd trailer. It's a mid 80s' fibreglass CADET body that I'm putting on a semi-offroad chassis that I'm building. It will have a Jeep TJ theme and one of the tow vehicles will be my '04 LJ. It's been a fun project so far.
Successfully rehabbed a power seat motor I god at pull-a-part. Will attach it to the existing seat now that I know the cutout for the controller module is built into every seat frame.

I think instead of hiding the plate you highlighted it
Seriously, this looks like a great project! Good luck, I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.

Was going to delete my post to this on that other thread and put it here.
But I am just going to leave it alone. LOL.
Did you get the outside plastic seat trim and the part of the seat belt that is bolted to the base too?

I did, but it's gray instead of agate Need to figure out the best spray paint to match that slatey/blackish color. I didn't realize I posted in the wrong forum until your reply, so I'm glad you did.
So just the driver's side?
And pulled from a '97 or '98?
Did you get the harness?
Yes, driver's only--which is fine, I have a 2-door and that's 1 more door than necessary. Pulled from a 98. I snagged the entire seat, the pleather is in poor condition.

I think harness for a '98 is different then '99 and up.
If I am right it won't be plug and play but not sure.
Should be easy enough to figure out a work around if it is though.
And you can paint the plastic so...
But I think I might have a '99 and up harness and Agate driver's seat trim that I would be willing to part with if you are interested.

Our plates are reflective (I think most jurisdictions are) and I like that especially on a trailer for safety reasons. Current plans for the rear end include a TJ bumper (lengthened) and a swing out spare tire carrier with a tailgate table. It will look like it has a spare and have a "Jeep" tire cover but will actually hide an on demand water heater. I'm also installing a 12"x36" access panel into the back wall to get to the under the bed storage area. I'm using as many Jeep parts as possible like the Ravine wheels with 31" tires and the fender flares. I just got the door to work with a TJ handle. Lots to do!
Installed 5.25in Pioneer junkyard speakers. Will silicon around the grills, then we will pull off that back deck again and paint the whole thing, grills etc, all coyote tan. Make it all look factree.
Also found out the christmas tree plastic clips are the same one my 79 door ones are, so we replaced all of those.
Plus replaced the pos "dual" (seriously, wtf is that?) radio the PO put in there. with a real jvc radio. Then my kids shot it... then I ran it over with my truck.
