So i have the typical floor board leak from the air intake for the heater core and am looking to fix it but figured i would ask the xj geniuses first. I also have an issue where my heat and ac dont blow went the jeep is warm. The compressor is working but the fan to blow the cold or hot air isnt doing its job are the two related. If not how do i fix the heat/ac problem? Btw it worked when i bought the jeep until about a month ago but the leak has been leaking for a long time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx ahead of time.
Well the light and speakers came out decent enough. I'll end up painting the rest of the panels as we have to remove them with that same coyote tan Oryllllies interior spray. It's close anyways. Took about 2 cans of that.. then a can of matt clear.
if your gonna replace carpet..I found a place I'm gonna use where I can get cut to fit carpet for passenger seating area for $139...then I'm gonna come back later and do the cargo area..it also comes with underliner padding...
These 4.0's run HOT. I've looked at all kinds of louvers - letting hot air out, while stopping water from coming in, is as elusive as finding one I'm willing to live with. Has anybody found one they'd recommend? For now, it's JULY, so my stop gap effort is a hood spacer from Rock Star. It reduces the temperature gage by 10 to 15 degrees in 90-degree weather - hopefully enough to keep under hood electronics happy :
Yes - It looks like the hood isn't closed - but I can let heat out till fall - then remove them for cooler weather - Hopefully, I'll find a louver by next spring
Popped off the grill, got mine set into position. More decorative (air flow) cutouts come before final mounting. Winch bumper/grill bottom needs modding to play together. Pulled front swaybar to rehab the disco's & install new poly bushings.

I've had the same hood spacers from Rock Star on my rig for a couple of years now. Yes, it looks goofy and yes, people are constantly telling me my hood isn't closed--but it does let the heat out. When temps are in the 90's with 75% humidity I have found this is the only thing that will keep my temps manageable. Without the hood lift my rig ran right at 205-210 which made the idle run closer to 1K, which is obviously undesirable.
Since I live in the South and it doesn't really get that cold here I leave them on all year without any problems but in different climes I reckon people probably take them off in the winter.

Thanks for the info! It's easier to leave them in all year and if you've had sucess in the rain, there would not be reason to take them out in a moderate climate.

The water never seems to bother anything and we get a ton of rain here in central FL. I even have some grounds and such for my amps and relays strategically positioned on the firewall which, it seems, are always exposed to moisture, no problems.
I guess the only caveat is I cannot go through one of those automatic car washes because I am worried about the protruding hood eating the rotating scrubby wheel, but otherwise all systems go.
