For what it's worth, my Jeep has a Delphi in it that I was told was replaced just before I bought it (by the PO's neighbor) and it has whined for the 3 years I've owned the Jeep. It drives me nuts!
Just one man's experience.
Unforntuanly the sending unit is pretty rusty so I would like to get the whole assembly just not sure what to do for replacement...
You can't win.
This is why I have started hoarding parts.
Really hoping I get lucky and find one like you did.
The funny thing about the Mopar pump I bought was that it was on Craigslist for awhile before I did.
I even think the price might have dropped to $150 from $175.
I hemmed and hawed about buying it for awhile and then just said screw it.
Guy showed me the receipt from the Dealership and I think it was about $375 out the door.
And the real funny thing was he bought it from a Dealership I used to do business with back in the '80's.
When I owned all my CJ's and Jeep Trucks.
Also owned by the grandfather of my girlfriend at the time.
So of course I got the family discount. LOL.

Are there Mopar/Chrysler markings on it? I would assume so. I'm curious if your Mopar pump is actually a Bosch manufactured pump?
Honestly, at this point I would spend nearly $400 on a factory pump. I'm not proud of how dumb I am when it comes to budgeting for these things - just honest.

When I bought it there was a tag around the short harness on the pump.
Mopar symbol with the part number and Made in Mexico on it.
So between that, the box, and the receipt I never looked any farther.
So I went to check.
Best I can tell there are no other markings on it.
This is an old picture from when I first got it.
I could take a picture of the tag if you would like.
Before I bought this I checked as best I could.
My '00 parts catalog lists the part number as 5012953AB.
My '99 parts catalog lists the part number as 5012953AB.
My '01 parts catalog lists the part number as 5012953AB.
Now my new one has AC at the end.
Not sure why the price difference.
And to be frank while I believe the letters at the end of a part number do not matter I am not 100% sure of that.
So if and when I have to do this I might find out that I have the wrong part.
I wonder if the difference between the AB and AC versions is just that lower strainer that's supplied with it. On the factory one that came out of my 99, that little strainer was the size of a postage stamp. On the new Bosch pump that I put in to replace it, it had the large strainer with a hole for one of the feet, like the one shown above.

So the strainer on the new pump looked like what my picture shows?
Did you use it with the big strainer?
Any problems?
Cause I think I have heard that there is a smaller one and a bigger one.
Also trying to find just the strainer ended up finding this:

Does the strainer on that look like your original one?
The one I put in was the Bosch kit that I ordered back on Amazon and installed back in 2012. It looked exactly like this...
I used the big strainer that it came with, as the postage stamp one the original one came with was totally plugged up and had been causing me problems for years. I'd had the Jeep 3 years when I started having fuel issues, and after changing the fuel unit and having the tank steam cleaned, I hadn't had any problems in the 5 years from when I fixed the pump to when I sold it.

Good to know cause when you mentioned the different size strainer it got me wondering.
Cause all the pumps say '97 to '01 for the application.
Now I don't see how it would matter about the size of the strainer but the change made me wonder.
Wonder why they did do it though.
So today we are going to see if I can finish October maintenance.
Somebody awhile back used this on their door and hatch seals.
I don't know about other years but '00 have little holes in them spaced out.
The guy who used it said he gave each hole a squirt. Said he was happy with it so figure why not.
Normally I silicone my door seals every winter. Come from one time not being able to open my hatch
in my '96 I used to own.
Debating on whether to spray this on the outside of the seals or stick with the silicone.
Oh and I have my driver's side mat soaking to clean it up.
Like an idiot forget to get the 2 front mats done when I washed the outside.
Nobody ever sits in the back so no need there. LOL.
See how much more I get done today.
So I used the 3 in One for the outside of the seals too.
Mats are washed and interior is all detailed.
Not that you can really tell but it smells nice and is all nice and shiny.
The Red 99 Sport is almost ready to go... I cleaned the fuel tank, a new fuel pump module, resealed the diff and done the rear brakes and cylinders .. crank sensor, coil and valve cover gasket engine flush and new cooling system .. ZJ Fan and aluminium dual core radiator new tranny cooler and recently the engine mounts and by the look of them I think the tranny mount might of been under a bit of strain? so I will replace it .....
Both Cherokee's 96 Limited and 99 Sport have led interior conversions... both run the same spec cooling system for the Aussie Outback
I was sick all weekend and am still a little congested, must have Corona . Somehow I still found it within myself to not only work on the Jeep but also go to LKQ to pull out some 4.10 gears, in my lack of experience though after pulling and measuring I realized they were for a Dana 35 not a Chrysler 8.25... Very sad moment for me, I had to tell myself I would only buy them and try and sell them if they were only 50 dollars. The lady told me they were 85 and so I had to put away my pride and walk away. New Jeeper things...
I don't know if anyone else struggles with this but I was pretty proud of myself for putting down those gears. Usually when I put all this effort in to get a part and realize it is not the right one I buy it telling myself I'll just sell it to someone else. Obviously because LKQ's prices are so steep you usually don't end up selling it and making your money back.
