Found my intake leak. And replaced dr motor mount.

 

Pulled my exhaust to weld up the cracks until I can get a real system under there.

Also replaced the fuel filter.

I have a 97 Jeep Cherokee xj and the parking brake is not working. I just replaced the rear pads and cylinders but no change.

 

I just put back the junk that serves as an exhaust on mine so I can at least run the engine while I wait for parts to arrive.

 

You probably should try the search function but check the cable adjustment. If that is already maxed out; The cable is likely stretched and needs replaced.

 

I got the rotted out muffler replaced at a buddy's shop. We used a Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler. Jeep has a nice mellow sound but nothing obnoxious.

 

So I decided to use the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating in the tubes of the hitch.
Cause I had it lying around.
Spayed in there without the wand, let it run down the sides, and puddle up at the bottom.
Figure give the puddle at the bottom a bit to work its way into any crevices and whatnot.
Hit it with the wand to insure coverage, hung it upside down, and let the excess drip out.
Do the same with the other side after the paint dries for a bit.
And don't worry.
I will not forget to post that exciting shot of POR 15 drying as promised when I get to that part. LOL.

I just hit the problem areas and dry brushed a bunch more of it.
Figure the hitch will be 2 different shades of black but don't care.

 

I had some leftover *****athane from roofing the shop so I pulled up the corners of the carpet and placed it where I could. There is a huge difference in road-noise, almost enough to pull the interior and do everything but I have no time or patience for that kind of job.

 

I recovered my head liner which was a pretty straightforward job. I found some great material at Fabricland, close to the original colour and a bit heavier which made it very easy to work with. I used 3M Super 77 spray adhesive (2 cans) which seems to be what most people use and it worked great

While I was at it I added 1 LED strip in the rear of the cargo area ceiling and 2 to the hatch. LOTS of light now!

Put on a new serpentine. The squeak is still there. Perhaps it's the water pump. The sound comes from roughly the middle.

 

Made some progress getting the rig back together by doing some small stuff while East Coast Gear Supply has my Dana 30.

Swapped out the big subwoofer box my friend installed when he owned the rig with a space-saving XJ Pod with a Kicker subwoofer. I'm not an audio guy at all but thought "all the wiring and the amp is there - just keep a sub."

​​​​​​Bench bled and installed the new master cylinder. I'll probably still need to bleed the whole system when everything is back together.

Still a ton to get done...

 

Upper radiator hose blew a hole at a stoplight. Luckily I was about a 1/4 mile from a parts store. Last one in stock and a parking lot fix, good to go. Paranoid me will do the lower hose tomorrow.

 

I hooked up my new to me SUV tent (got it in a swap with a friend). It works great! Here it is without the fly attached. The hatch lights I installed last week (see post #92830) light up the inside of the tent nicely.
