I did my driver's door first. It popped pretty good. I bought all Mopar parts which probably cost a couple bucks more then the Crown/Dorman equivalents. But I do have an in at the dealership. They are a customer of the auto parts store I work at. They look out on the pricing. Anyway. No washers on that side. Once I had the driver's door all nice nice I realized my passenger side door was not as smooth as I original thought. Thought it was fine and had no intention of doing it. But once I saw how smooth the driver's side was my damn OCD kicked in again. That is when I found 1 washer in there. Looked at my back doors and saw one side had 2 and the other only one. Damn OCD again. Thinking the factory notched one just gets forced in when already assembled. But pulling all the pins to add those was easy enough. Even put new washers on the back doors.
Mine have Zero washers ! All need to be redone ! Don't et me wrong, I have no quams about paying more for Mopar, but do you think there's much difference in the quality ? A lot of the Dorman stuff is made in China, piece of mind, and doing it once would be worth it. I may get one of each to compare them side by side. What are the dimensions of the washers ? And as far as the LED dilemmas, I'm going to drop back and watch to see who figures it out before I jump ! But, I do want to jump !

I am betting there is nothing wrong with the Crown or Dorman (I know Crown makes them and guessing Dorman does) ones. Like I said I was able to get the Mopar ones for a price I was willing to pay. But the other brands are cheaper.
Give me a bit to go through my spare parts so I give give you the approximate size of those washers. I don't even know if they are really all that important. Maybe the holes in the brackets and arms of the door check get wallowed a little quicker when they are not in there. Maybe. Betting if we took a poll that hardly anybody will find them in their Jeep. Like I said I just hit the nut and bolt aisle at a local hardware store and found some nylon washers that were about the same size.
And as far as the LED dilemma, good phrasing by the way (LOL), I started that thread because people say they do this, you research it a bit, seems pretty cut and dry, and the BAM. And nobody really seem to talk about it. As a matter of fact, concerning the 194's, what little info I could find was more about the problem in TJ's. But what appears to be the exact same problem. I have not really done a deep dive on this but as of yet have not really found many postings on this problem with XJ's. I kinda stopped too when I discovered that there was non polarized LED 194's which I have some coming. See if that solves the problem. Online somebody described the non polarized LED's as being 2 bulb folded into one which makes polarity not an issue. And at the moment the best I can tell your turn signal indicators dimly glowing when you turn on the headlights is just something you have to live with.
Forgot to add at the moment I don't even think there is a plug and play LED for the third brake light. If anybody has found one that works could you post a link or part number? I would like to add it to the thread.
But I am the wrong person to ask. Electrical is not even close to being in my wheel house. Now my buddy on the other hand has a pretty thorough understanding of stuff like this. I have questions or issues I go to him.
So DonP informed of something that did not even occur to me. The length of the 194 bulbs I have coming. Thinking they are going to be to long. We shall see.
On positive note. Remember I installed the headlight harness. Well it was very gray and overcast this morning on the way to work. Was playing with the turn signals, brakes and whatnot to see if they are OK still while driving. I turned on my headlights to see the turn signal indicators dimly glowing still. Like they might fix themselves. LOL. That is when I noticed the reflection from my headlights off of street signs. WOW. This is at 7 AM. Now I have not been out at night since the upgrade. Hell really don't drive at night. I really did the upgrade to take some of the stress of the headlight switch. Hey brighter lights was a bonus.
So you have heard it a million times. Now it is a million and one. Do the upgrade. You will not be sorry.
Oh and this is with the Brightlight versions of the stock headlights.

Apparently I keep better records then I thought. These are the exact ones I bought at the hardware store. I wrote down the part #. When I Googled it this came up with the same part # and the exact sizes I had written down.
The hole itself is a 1/4". The original was almost 1/8" thick not 1/16" thick like the replacement washer I used. Thinking better then nothing and I am guessing I really did not want to double up above and below.
