Did that on my last Jeep. The crappy part was that I was trying to do it in the driveway in the dark, and it was only around 40 degrees.

Do you have a NP242 transfer case with Part Time and Full Time 4WD?

Same but was racing to get as much done before the dark, also wasn't my driveway so didn't want the owners and boss to be mad.

HEY BUD! Accidentally messed up the post thanks a bunch for posting that. I said that I had no idea what I was doing and ofc it's a hack job. I'm no professional. Thanks for pointing that one out haha. I did cut to deep but I can weld and fix that without much issue as far as I am aware. I did do this after working a 16 hour shift and needed the clearance before work again. I'm personally happy with it and thought it was a good learning experience. It's been a blast reading your reply bud. Keep being awesome

Yep. The CAD nonsense is useless for full-time 4WD. NP242 XJs got solid shafts and the larger 297x U joints! So that's nice.

Confused- can't tell if you're saying I messed up your post or you messed up your own post. The "I have no idea what I'm doing" didn't come from your words, but rather from your images. In regard to your words, they were silly. You got called out on it. Then you did it again and got called out more directly. I won't deny being a jackass about it I guess but I'm jaded; there are a lot of people who apply this approach to working on there steering and suspension. It just leads to bad situations..

I said I messed up my post. In my original post I said I did it myself because I didn't want help and wanted to learn how on my own. Context clues could help you figure out that it was my first time. I think I have a better understanding for the next time if there is a next.
And as for getting called out I knew it wasn't perfect or the best but I was happy with it. How is that getting called out? I never denied or claimed anything. O.o
As for being a jackass there was literally no need. I did a project for the first time ever with no help and only words to go off of form those who had done it and typed up "how to's" and a couple of vids. The reason I tried something like this is because it's simple. If you jack it up oh well. Spot weld it and no biggie. Again. I never claimed to be a professional and expected a mediocre out come at best. But in my eyes I did a damn good job on my own. Please don't **** all over my accomplishment cause of whatever your excuse is.
And lastly. Silly words. Silly words. Silly words.

I don't plan on responding to any of your messages so let this end it. If not then whatever. Good night either way.

Tight forest trails, rally style driving, slick streets, 4-FullTime shines.

After years of experimenting with the two different 4WD modes on the same trails, I experience better control and more effective turning when using FullTime. This is when zipping around forest-dune trails rally style, like 3000 rpm around turns.
