And remove my cruise control since I don't use it any ways

 

Yes, it's called the XJ Lower Quarter Panel Cut'n'Fold. There are about a dozen of them.

 

How often do you guys get your XJs washed during the winter, with the salt and all

 

I quit washing mine with salt and switched to Maguiars car wash soap. Much better results and my hands don't look like prunes when I'm done.

 

I take mine to the DIY spray wash place after every big storm. I wait for all the road gunk to leave the roads and once it's clear I'll drive over and give it a quick wash and under carriage spray down.

Just my 2 cents.

I live in Northern Colorado, so I'm not sure the difference between your road treatment and mine. In Ithaca NY I did it ASAP, just because I saw all the rusted out winter rats driving around and didn't want any of that
