I would think the overheating comment goes for just about every engine..

I'm not here to offend anyone . That wasn't my intent. I'm sorry if I did . No luck with GM.

Yes, a little bit. The beloved 4.0 we all know was a mutt. Our sensors are GM design, the distributors (Renix) are Bendix/motorcraft design, the transmissions are actually Toyota designed, etc. The old joke for AMC was All Makes Car. Lol

Personally I'd be more interested in stroking the 6 cylinder over swapping in a V8 but everyone's got their preference.

In the end, it's not necessarily the number of cylinders or size of the engine in liter or C.I. It's the way it makes power, where it makes power and what your trying to accomplish that makes it successful or a failure.

Already stroked one. Building V2 now. I have 4.9L/300cid from a 4.2L/258cid IH block. Made 285hp/315tq.

Built a stroker before....there's simply no comparison.

No they didn't!!! They're a desendent of an AMC car and truck engine.

I cant count how many times I've been between a 5.3l swap and building a stroker.

I like the idea of the stroker since it bolts in

But I'd love that v8 power.

Such a hard decision

Yes, many times I've thought about a V8 in my Cherokee. An 8V92TA would be sweet. I think I'll have to mod the firewall a bit though.

Tractor my ***. The debut of the AMC Straight Six looked more like this.

Then I guess i'm mistaken. I had thought that they had used a similar design in tractors before they were used in Jeeps.

At the time my engine blew I had decided I didn't have the tools or the knowledge to do a V8 swap so that's what made me decide to do a stroker instead. I'm not regretting my decision at all either. I think theirs plenty more power to be gotten out of this engine.
