V8
Jeep V8's make nowhere near the power a 5.3 can make heavily modified. Who cares if it's a chevy motor in a jeep? If you want to get technical with it then our "Jeep" motors came out of a tractor.

Why be normal? My XJ came from the factory with a Chevy 2.8. I went to a small block when the 2.8 let go. Why try to source Jeep parts when you have Chevy parts right there?
Opinions are like bungholes. Everyone has one.

My Dad had a Comanche with the 2.8 Chevy in it . It was a dog ! My Ford Ranger with a 2.0 I4 had more power ! Lol !!
Don't get me wrong I loved his truck other than no power.
I never had any luck with gm products. Won't hold up to me I guess. I've had many of them also. Lots of SB chevys .
