Today I found about 5 years worth of nasty sun flower shells under the back seat, 2 nintendo DS games, 72 cents in pennies and a completely blown out shock. Oops guess I shoulda looked at that before I handed over the cash.

as for finding stuff in this jeep, I didnt. Besides lite colored sandy loam mud inside everything about mid door height. floors toast. hatch hinges snapped off. both front doors sprung, someone jumped on the roof.
tail lights gone with wires cut.
Windshield broken from the inside (not crash related douche bag kids related)
Tons of other bull****, basically the previous owner and some of his probabaly m"I'm awesome" friends decided to **** everything up because he was getting rid of it. Thanks douches.

I just bought an '89 XJ for my sister-in-law, it's a base model with no A/C and rubber floor mats, and the odometer shows 207,000 miles. I just started poking around and discovered:
The bad: A four foot long 2x4 (intended to hold the rear hatch up), a burnt out turn signal relay (now fixed), non-functioning parking brake, valve cover breather hose not connected to anything, a melted crater in the fuse box where the blower fan fuse is supposed to go, no lower dash facia, no radio (wires simply cut), driver seat so worn it basically has a two-inch crater in it, cracked windshield, driver door hinges are starting to crack from the body, rear wiper blade missing, a random vacuum line which isn't connected to anything, heavily oxidized and peeling clear coat paint.
The good: A full size spare with matching wheel which is in better condition than the rest of the tires, recent receipts for a new clutch master cylinder and starter, engine runs great, and the trans and the rest of the drive train seem to be fine as well, while the paint looks like it was left in a field for the last 20-years the body is amazingly straight.
$700 and it runs, drives and stops. I can't wait for my first wrecking yard treasure hunt.

In one, a pot pipe, a quarter, a full-blown DW. In the other, a household extension cord used as stereo wiring, a vacuum line from the engine bay to the stereo but not connected to anything on either end, several lighters, a ton of leaves in the engine bay, and enough dog hair to make a really ugly coat.
