How many people literally do that for no other reason than because the internet said cut up fenders, body damage, and bedliner is cool? Most everyone I know does it because they find they need to push the envelope more and more to enjoy themselves, instead of going over the same trail over and over. As you push it, you dent things, need fender clearance, and maybe you are a bedliner kinda person.

Yeah forreal. I use the Internet for ideas, heck, if it wasn't for Internet I wouldn't even have known you could take your fenders off! I don't do the stuff to my jeep because some one did it online. I do the mods to my jeep because IIIII like it. And what's a jeep made for? Not to be a pavement pounder, if that's what you want buy a Honda, jeeps are made to be beat up and abused bro..

Exactly my point! Couldent have said it better myself.

It just seems wasteful to me to take a solid, good looking, well kept vehicle, spend that much money on it, and then trash it. And there's plenty of Jeeps running around here on cut fenders and 31 inch highway tires. Just look at the builds section.

trashing it is a casualty of having a good time. I hope you get that beater you were talking about earlier. it's fun not caring. I guess you won't understand until then.

You'd hate my Jeep. Funny thing is that's my favorite thing I've done to it. The only body panel on my Jeep that hasn't been touched by a Sawzall is the hood. I bet my bad looking POS Cherokee can outwheel your pretty one.

The xj i had in 2006:

That xj in 2008:

new xj in 2008:

That xj in 2009:

The white xj's replacement getting ready for battle in 2009:

and Right now:

Keep in mind I had a blast with every one of these xj's and ultimately were all retired from different forms of unibody failure. The black one actually still runs, and I plan on wheeling it again.
You were on a roll until the last 3 pictures.

Simple answer. Because Wranglers cost 5 times what a Cherokee costs, has less room, no cargo and only 2 doors.

I can buy a Cherry XJ for the same price as a ragged out 10 year older YJ. It just makes no sense.

That's actually a really good all around tire. They suck in mud but for an all around road/trail tire they do awesome.

It must be something about BFGs in other parts of the country. I'm still a firm believer in BFG tires.

we don't have mud in colorado lol. but they don't work in our light dry powder snow, they don't do well on our rocks, and their thin sidewalls don't like rocks or trees.

And yeah i guess the 4 days a year when it rains and there is mud, i've seen just as many stuck trucks on AT's as on street tread.

Like I said, it most just be the difference in terrain.

I put 40k on the last set of BFG ATs I had. They wore evenly and did as well as any AT tire should do.
