another crazy idea; rear seat conversion
Ok so somewhere in me haveing 2 extra seats. I started wondering if i could remove the bench seat and toss in two fixed back seats. As you see the seats fit and have alot of head room so... my real question is what problem would i run into fabrication wise for this? Also has anyone else done this before? Kinda going for originality here tell me what yall think.

im sure its been done, but how much money and work do you want to put in for basically your rear passengers, plus you wont be able to fold them down for rear space if need be, but if you eant to then go for it and post pics

X2 plus look how much higher they sit than the front. the bench seat has that lip so sit in/ on so you would really have to do some fab work for something that IMO isnt worth it... Plus what are you gonna do with the chicks if you dont have a bench seat???

And i can see where this could be an issue. But i if the first couple of bracket ideas dont work then its getting tossed and ill keep the bench.

Aayyyeee lol I would try to find a set similar to the ones you have now and see what happens... Measure how tall your front seats are now and then try to make it work back there... I think the lip for the bench seat will cause a lot of problems for this

And i think i can use the lip to my advantage with the frame for the seat.

I've got 4 xj buckets in my rig. Pretty freaking awesome for wheeling with more than one other person. All I used was some angle iron and some 1x1 square tubing. Should have used 2x 4 box though.

I've got a thread called rear bucket seat bracket. I can't cut and paste on my phone or I would just give you the URL. Sorry. When you find it never mind the welds they are TERRIBLE. I have replaced them since then

No, I don't lick fish.
There was a guy somewhere on here that took the seats from a brat and used them in place of the rear bench. I've seen others that have used racing bucket seats to in place of the bench. If I run across any links for them, I'll post 'em up for you.
