No no and no. New Jeeps suck, the ONLY halfway decent thing out there is the 2 door Wrongler. But since they dropped the XJ and even the WJ, it's just all been downhill.

People don't want cars to go 200-300k anymore. Cars are disposable now, buy one, run it for 150k and trade it in as a clunker. Because that's the hip thing to do. People suck, Chryco/fiat jeeps suck, and their marketing division sucks even worse.

I call it the 'ghetto bentley.' You wont' see one without 22" rims on it unless its still at the dealer. Hell back in the day(s) even new car dealers were selling mini trucks and fixed up ricers brand new.

Same thing with Tahoes. I can't think of when I've seen one on the street without chromed rims and 50/40 series tires.

But..think of it this way. You have to follow the market. Look at that ridiculous Range Rover Evoque. Like a mini cooper on a 4" lift.

Chrysler KNOWS that people will buy a Lexus that can handle fire roads. Just so people can be happy to leave the pavement in style 2 times a year.

Post all the "haha XJ pulling a hummer out of the mud" videos you want, the market has changed.

Ok, so now cars can be hit head on at 65 mph, and roll six times into the woods and all the occupants walk out. Man, what a waste. And don't pull the faster cars argument, that's like saying guns are the reason people get shot.

So 150k is terrible? What cars are being run into 2-300k routinely and what were? Keeping a car from new to 150k+ miles was never the norm for the average car buyer. And terrible marketing? Are you on crack? Jeeps marketing has NEVER been this good. Btw, chryo has been in charge of jeeps since the early 90s.

You dont understand how it works. Why in the hell would Dodge make TWO 2 door v8 rwd muscle cars? The demand is already falling.

Problem with all the sensor is its taking away for
People actually driving. I understand the benefit of them and the safety factor however let's face it people now just get in their cars and drive, rarely check lanes, still don't use blinkers and the best one is auto lights. So many people I see driving without headlights in rain and night time. That's why I say the sensors are a waste, people are relying to much on the vehicle and less on their ability. Oh and I know what you're gonna say, it's because of their inability tht why there's the sensors.

I see your argument and I definitely agree that cars are safer these days - no question there... but you have to wonder, how did the human race survive the days before these advances in automobile safety?

Without all of these ABS systems, stability control, lane departure warnings, automatic braking and collision detection... how did ANYONE make it through those years?

Oh, that's right - they weren't too busy texting their bff or otherwise faffing about to pay attention to the road.

Modern safety features are great - but they need to put A LOT more emphasis on teaching people to drive safely.

I'm not at all concerned about MY ability to NOT crash into someone. I pay attention when I drive. I don't speed (well, 5 over i suppose). I drive carefully and responsibly.

...but I can't say the same thing for the guy in the lane next to me who just got a naughty text from his mistress and forgot that he was traveling at 70mph on a busy freeway.

The Charger came out before the Challenger, and there was a huge backlash over the Charger being a 4 door - yet it continues to outsell the Challenger.

Same reason the Lumina and Impala outsold the Monte Carlo. Same car, two extra doors - more practical.

It's off topic but, the challenger is a hell of alot nicer than the newer charger IMHO. Old school charger though wins hands down

i guess i am old school i think it is ugly . i am not a big fan of the v6 motors being used these days. i have worked on several of these v6s and all usually have several oil leaks all over . to me the v6 does not want to stand up to the wear and tear of off road use. i am a in line 6 guy my self . i did not buy my cherokee for gas mileage . i bought it to use. if i want good mileage i will buy a compact car .
