Chrysler should just separate the Wrangler with its own brand like Ram so it doesn't go down with the rest of them. Why would anyone buy a Jeep car when their so very inexperienced at making one? Even if i look at the new Jeep line-up unbiased (as hard as that is) they are all as easy on the eyes as the three stooges, excluding the wrangler (of course). Even with emissions, crash ratings, and all the other mandated bull they managed to make a decent jeep in the wrangler. Fiat's done a number on this brand. At least i have my "real" jeep cherokee and that will have to do.

I noticed in the article that it was referred to as "un-jeep-like", which it is. The only thing even faintly Jeep-like about it, is the grill. It looks more like an Acura RDX than a Jeep. I also read that they're planning on using a 9-speed auto transmission? That's a LONG transmission and won't leave room for a 2 speed t-case.
Personally, given the choice of this new abomination and the current line-up, I'd rather have a Patriot. Granted, it's not as "off-road capable" as an XJ, has almost no flex and is primarily front wheel drive but, it has the highest MPG of anything currently in the Jeep line and the lowest base cost.

For a comparison.

Back when Jeeps were made with some heart and talent.

When Jeep became a company after Lexus' customers. Don't be late for your tee time.

^couldn't agree more, grab the classics while you can, jeep is no longer a rugged manufacturer, they've moved on too luxury vehicles

This is entirely true. The grand Cherokee was the full size suv like the wagoneers and the Cherokee was a mid size suv. Like explorer escape armada pathfinder(sorry for lack of commas) but you get the idea.
