And any new jeep vehicle coming out is gonna be luxury hell the wranglers have leather in em now. That's why people want. I see people buying the lowest class GC just cause it looks like a Mercedes. People wanna look like they drive fancy *** cars and half the time they know Anything about the vehicles history. Hate to tell em most domestic vehicles are the same exact thing until you get into the higher prices classes of the vehicle.

its the same concept with lifted jeeps. everyone wants to buy a lifted jeep/lift their jeep just so they can look like an off roader when they really don't know anything about off roading or even go off roading. heck, it seems like theres a ton of people on here that lift their jeep just for the sake of looking cool.

me personally, i don't care about this potential "new" cherokee. the only part of the XJ it will resemble is the name, which doesn't really bug me. while Jeep has definitely strayed away from the rugged off road brand that they once were, i think they are still making a decent effort to keep some off road features in their vehicles. look at the liberty, it still has a low range transfer case, which most every other SUV out there does NOT have. You can't blame jeep for making more street tailored vehicles, because if thats what they are going to profit on then of course they are going to do it. they are in the business to make money.

I agree about the sake of business and how cara change of their design for the sake of it. Look at Chrysler they made their car look like a Bentley and everyone jumped on it. Specially here in ny hood rich ppl loved it with a passion. I'm not happy with the direction cars a going but that's why I'll buy older jeeps cause I love their handling and capability.

And I'm more mad that jeeps are based off of dodge vehicles and put the jeep brand on em. Makes it like jeeps second rate. Like the blaZer, jimmy and bravada

I enjoy how everyone in this thread probably couldn't afford a car over five grand anyway. You guys should totally be running the jeep brand with all your knowledge and experience.

The vast majority of people on this forum have put over 5 thousand dollars in there Jeep. If everyone in this post had a hand in Jeep, then the new one wouldn't look like hell.

Thank you for your underhanded remark,
Christian

I don't race... But you guys are like a bunch of little kids crying about it. The liberty is still called the Cherokee everywhere else in the world. New jeeps are gonna be getting more "comfy," that's just the way it goes. A loaded wk rivals the fit and finish inside and out of a Benz. They're land rovers made in the us without the reliability issues. Chrysler went pretty much bankrupt, Fiat took a gamble while already under pressure and bought Chrysler, then Fiat took a huge downturn. What brand single handedly saved Fiat auto group and Chrysler? Jeep. You guys gotta give them more credit.

He's got a point.....Maybe we should be bashing the people who consider themselves modern "jeep owners". forcing the brand to move in a direction the rest of us, die-hard or old-school jeepers, whatever, CANNOT STAND!

However cool a cheap bare bones purpose built offroader would be, after adding all the safety features that NEED to be on a new car to comply with federal regulations it wouldn't be profitable. That's business. Jeep is still making badass rigs and brings them to easter jeep (and stockers too!) to wheel them. The wrangler comes with solid axles. They still make a Rubicon edition that can do pretty much any trail in the country out of the factory. Do I think they can make a more traditional jeep rig? Of course, and I wish they did. But I still think they're doing a damn good job.

You have to admit that making Jeeps more road vehicles than off-road ones is the smarter business plan. They may not be as capable out in the wilderness but, there is also alot more paved road in this world than when cherokees were designed and, at least around my house, a whole lot less fewer legally accessable trails that require that sort of capability.

I like my cherokee for what it is capable of but, most of the world needs that ability alot less.

Anyone wondering why new Jeeps are being made with tons of creature comforts and aimed more toward suburbanites only needs to remember why the new Charger has four doors.

Because enthusiasts are NOT the target market anymore.

This thread is good to talk about jeeps new vehicles an our opinions but lets not sart bashing each other economics statuses or the such so this thread doesn't get shut down.

We all have our opinions, an they are all strong because this forum I designed for offroad, recreational and old school jeep enthusiast. And all these new sensors and such in cars IMHO are a waste. So when vehicles get into accidents now, it's gonna take more money to repair em it seems. Maybe car companies should focus on further educating the public instead of making a
