You can do that, or run it to the pressure switch in the door jam.

Yeah those are the gremlins, I thought one was stuck so I coaxed it with a hammer. Need to replace that one... I'm going to go through my interior one of these days and sort out all my little bugs and kill any bugs that might be living in there. One of these days...

Smile gas tank hanger bolts

So if you broke off those bolts that hold your tank cause they were rusty, and don't want to buy new ones cause your broke .Just get a couple sections of 3/8 all thread and put it in a vice to bend it tack weld a nut on the end and done super solid easy and cheap. If there are questions i may post pics but seems pretty self explanatory

i had a crazy idea take a blazer rear tire swing and latch and mount it on your roof rack so it swings up and hangs off the back and get a spare lowering winch off of a old pickup . i think that would be cool cause your spare would be latched in the roof rack and if u need it u pull the latch fold it back to where its hanging over the back undo the lug nuts and lower it down with the hand winch.

I think a tire ,swinging from roof rack would be dangerous. You might be able to pull it off if you put some kind of piston to keep it from falling freely.

I've seen rear bumpers with a hitch built into it.

Your local metal supply store should have receiver tubing for sale

Pretty easy if you like to build stuff yourself. I've had good luck getting aftermarket hitches and factory hitches from the JY and Craigslist, and have never paid more than $30 for any of them.

Edit, sorry, just realized this was in the fabrication forum.

If you're building a hitch that is similar to a standard bolt-on hitch I would just buy one. They can be had relatively cheap, cheaper than the time and materials that go into building your own. I sold a 1 1/4" Hitch for $40 last year and see them on CL for roughly that price pretty regularly. I applaud the DIY ethic but sometimes it just isn't worth your time.

Now if you're building something custom that even the base of an existing hitch wont work with. Fab away! ...and post pics!
