My homemade snorkel. Its made from left over stainless steel ic pipe and shop vac hose. The Brackets are made from stainless steel, I got from work, that i cut and bent.
IC pipe: $0
Shop Vac hose: $0
Brackets: $0
Paint: $1.98 + tax
Spending just over $2 one a snorkel: Priceless

Anyone thought of mounting your speed and engine temp in a digital analog mounted to the A-pillar? Was just thinking about it the other day and didnt seem to see much about it.

What about hinging it to the back of your roof rack, so it lifts upward like the tailgate? Probably need some pretty hardcore struts to hold it upright though lol

Just use a pin to hold it up and put straps to limit how far it drops

True... a heavy duty strut to make it easier to lift plus a locking pin combination would be ideal. Seems like something that would actually be relatively easy to build... and if it latched into the rear bumper, it would also function as an exo cage for the rear end.

Yeah also the tire would help reduce the impact transfer to the vehicle if you got rear ended

Also that tire will destroy your rear hatch if you get rear ended.
