You're talking about a fiber optic cable that is illuminated on the "rope" portion and not just the tip? Sure, I dont see why not so long as it will operate on the 12V-ish system in the jeep.

Ahaha i use rolls of duct tape for my cupholders...
I used to do this on the floorboards of my station-wago when I was 16. Bench seats in a car from 1987 meant NO cupholders Surprisingly the car was pretty free of stains but filled with sand and In'n'out burger wrappers. Lived in Socal growing up.

Yeah, I restored a '70 Nova 4 door that had a bench... I know just was you mean... but really, it's a lot easier to figure something out when you have a bench seat and an empty floorboard vs. the lack of any space in the front of a cherokee... I used the brica snack pod for my cupholder... works a lot better than the one they sell at QT that only holds soda cans.

Most people get small subs when they're tired of the over kill... I'd gladly trade my two 15's for a ten or a twelve at this point..

Ran 2 12s for a long time, when they blew up and my vocabulary had a few more "huh's" in it I decided on only one 10 that i got for free.

I basically spliced the wiring into the rear dome light, added a fuse and ran the wires through the rubber "wire-way" from the body to the hatch. I cut a strip out of the rear gate plastic trim (remove it first please) for the light to recess in. I did have to glue it to get it to stay because it is meant to be captive in a piece of 3/4" plywood. I used an aluminum recessed profile and lights made for furniture but you could easily use puck/spot lights to the same effect. I still would like to add a switch as it blasts the interior with light every time I open the doors.

Components I used came out of the Hafele catalog. Page 14 Here. I would recommend sourcing an led strip that works with automotive 12V and fits within this extrusion. So whatever you buy has to be less than 14mm or 9/16" wide.

Extrusion 13/16"W x 5/16"H x 98"L
PN: 833.72.762 MSRP $48.00

End Cap
PN: 833.72.768 MSRP $4.00
What was your source for the actual LED strip? Did you use the 12v or some kind of transformer?

Thanks, Dutch

that's one advantage i've found with the fiberglass hatch... mine doesn't rattle

of course, I don't have monster bass in the back of mine either.. never have been able to stand too much bass

I have 2 10's in a sealed box powered by 400 watts... does the job plenty

Here's my current subwoofer set up. I built a custom box for a single 12" to replace my 2 12's. I was tired of not having any space to carry anything. It sounds pretty darn good. I also moved my front door speakers to the kick panels so that I can still have my front speakers when doorless. Plus it also eliminated all the wires I had going to my doors sense I have manual everything.
