Here are my kickers in my kickers I also have manual locks and windows so the mod was a snap. Slight loss in sound quality because you lose the air space inside the door, but still sounds pretty good. I don't have a write up for em, I may get around to it sometime after tomorrow. Yay finals...

I was going to do this, and actually started on the passenger side a couple months ago, but there isn't much room behind the kick panel and couldn't get it to mount flush again. Could that be due to power windows and locks? Or do I just need thinner speakers?

The photos above are exactly what I did. Funny thing is that I also put kickers in the kickers haha. But, I've got Kicker everything from the front speakers, sound bar speakers, sub, and even 3" speakers in the dash.

And, for anyone who is, or would be interested in building a box exactly like mine, here is a complete dimensional drawing.

if i build one it will just be for a 10 so i can make it a bit less deep and call it a day. i'm not going for optimum sound, i just want a pinch of bass.

Depending on the mounting depth of your speaker and how much air space it needs, you could be by with one much smaller. I also made one for a 10" Kicker CVT, which is Kicker's version of a shallow mount and that box didn't extend past the wheel well.

Could be how tall your speakers are. the windows and locks are in your doors, only the wires would be in your way.

Yeah, I know the bulk of it is in the door, there seems to be a module of some sort behind the passenger side kick panel at least. Oh well, I will figure something out.
