I put some vents in the hood today. Definitely not an original idea. Got the idea from another forum member and copied it almost exactly. If I were to do it again I'd get different door edging so I could go around the sharp corners with it. I'd also look harder and fine heavier mesh for the middle. I used high temp RTV silicone to attach the mesh to the hood then covered it with the automotive duct tape. I think i'll just get some (large) sheet magnets to cover the vents in the event of a biblical rain storm.
Measure twice ha ha (and note where the brace is)

Edging on. Have trimmed the non-conforming corners since the pic:

Finished product:

Likey??

With my new wheel off set, i needed wider flares. Moreover the trails i run are known for claiming flares and windows. So i decided to make a set of flares and bump stops all in one.
The project is still going but got the frame work done. The rest is just finishing touches.

never seen that design for tube fenders before. I kind of like it! Nice work and originality.

So I got bored and went McGiver. Found a solar powered garden light and gutted it. Took my current license plate light and took all the guts out of that. Hot glues the wires to the rechargeable battery found a way to put it to look okay and now my license plate light is solar powered. I will see if it work tomorrow night and then I will clean it up and make it look nice. Not technically home brew but the jeeps gone green :@

Found out today that I was stupid but also figured out that I have done something new
I thought I had a Dana 35
I bought a lock right for Dana 35
I installed in rear
I had to grind down the C-clips outside diameter leaving inside the same. This was so that the sleeve would slide over c-clip.
I tested and worked great. Went on a trail ride and abused the crap out of it. Worked wonderfully.
Then today I found out my rear is not a Dana 35 it is actually a 8.25 lol
I don't know if it is shear luck or if I figured out something new. I am not at all saying it will work for you but it is possible to put a Dana 35 Richmond Lock Right in a 8.25 rear.
Possible reasons I can think of.
Combination of locker being used and the axles worn down enough for locker to fit over shaft.
There are pics in the thread under Advanced Tech called "Should this have worked?"
