For the people who have the white cluster gauges does the white needle on white backing ever bother you? Has anyone thought of painting the needle a different color? I'm probably going to buy the white backings but am thinking about painting the needles a different color.
I pulled a gauge cluster today from the JY so maybe I'll use that as a test run if nobody else has already done so.

I don't think it would matter during the day, and the needle is lit when you put your lights on right? I think... maybe just change it for a different color bulb? That would be bad ***...

If you change the bulb, witch if you are doing a white face you would want to, get LED bulbs. I have blue LEDs in all my dash lights, but i'm going to change to green LEDs later on, I've started to like green accents better than blue.

I googled all this info last week. I saw videos of the white on white and it was hard to see. The people i saw install them said its better to use a sharpie for the needles rather than paint because they said the extra weight of the paint on the needle can throw off the actual reading. Theres alot of great sites to give you more info on google. Many have how to videos also. If you havent gotten your white gauge faces yet id search around on google. I found them ranging from $20+ shipping all the way up to $50+ shipping for white. I saw multi colered gauge faces from $75+ instead of white.

And I was debating if I want to go the route of LED's or not. Mainly because I feel as though they look really cool, but don't light up the cargo area as well as I think they should. Can anybody prove me wrong? (please someone do... that way I have a reason to go digging into my jeep! Sometimes I need excuses

I like the idea of a sharpie, and good thinking about the weight of the paint. I did not think of that. I already ordered the whites (I had a giftcard to amazon) picked mine up for $25 and that includes the instalation kit (Didn't really think I needed it but either i pay $4.5 for shipping or $4.5 for the kit and no shipping). But I'll do some research on other sites and then report back with my findings.

Well if you do LED's in your dash it wont affect your overhead light at all. Unless you swith those as well. ive seen some people taking LED strips and lining their interior's with them. Bright as day haha, and i think you can get like a 10 foot roll of LED's on Amazon for like 20 bucks or something like that, dont quote me on it. Personally I would try and find a small blacklight bulb and make that sucker glow, but that could also turn out very very weird...
And just like everyone else.... I have done things in the back of my XJ that should make me go get re-baptized.

I have actually seen the strip thing you are talking about on this very thread. SO I'll look into it more. And yea, I'd want the same type of lighting around the entire interior.

On ebay they have rgb color changing striops with a remote. Plus dimmer controls all from the remote. So you could set the color and mood for having you lady friends in the back seat. They rgb color changing ones do cost a bit more but that have like 25+ colors. I bought the super bright white to use as rock lights and floorboard lights.

Installed new speakers in doors and tail gate. Used some insulating tape from home depot to semi line the inside of the doors and cushion the speaker mounts.

Its only 2 wires. Red and black. You can cut the 16ft into 3 ft sections and solder wires onto the strip and have a couple strips. Its very easy, nothing special to it.
