Default No Start Issue Please Help

I have a 93 ZJ 4.0L. The issue started with a missfire. Now it turns over but wont start. I finally got to to throw a code, but the code was for an egr. Problem is mine didnt come factory equipped with a egr. Any help on what the problem truely is.

Check engine light flashes a 32 , 55. Code 32 is for an egr which the v8's only came from factory with. Not the 4.0L. 55 is end of codes.

Not sure why it would be throwing a code for something that your Jeep doesn't have but seeing as the EGR is a part of the vaccum system I'd start checking to see if you have any cracked lines.

Bingo! Check the plastic elbow on the CCV valve and the hose to the MAP sensor.

Ok so my ccv and map sensor hoses are fine. Still getting code and now not getting any spark. New dis, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and coil. I know that there is a master tech on here that can pen point the promblem to a T.

Problem is 93 ZJ 4.0L throwing a 32 code for an egr that CHRYSLER did not install on this.

It could possibly be an intake manifold gasket leak.

I had something like this on my reg cherokee... It ended up being the crankshaft positioning sensor. Good luck

Ok so i cleaned the throttle body and the IAC ( idle air control) it fires but still no start. I think the battery is to weak. Now the code 32 is gone. Im getting a new code. It flashes once then long pause, then flashes twice pause, flases four times pause, then once more, and then 55. This means a code 24 right. If so i now have a bad TPS.

I believe code 12 is start of test, then code 41, and 55 is end on test. According to my book, a code 41 is an alternator fault. This could be because of the weak battery, IDK.

Charge up the battery, then try swapping out the ASD solenoid. The ASD will cut spark, injectors, and fuel pump.

We seem to be chasing an EGR code, but we should be looking elsewhere. The CPS is also a possibility.
