Default 2003 radiator swap

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo....inline 6 4.0 4x4. I need to replace the radiator, my question is....
Will I need to remove the front bumper to do this? I read a few places and believe even a YouTube video said the grill on these models don't just unbolt. I do what I can to save money on labor and to learn a little. My question is, how big of a job am I looking at? Thanks for any advice!

That writeup is for a 2005 WK, not for your 2003 WJ! Lots of differences between the 2 models. I own a 2000 WJ 4.0 and I don't believe you need to take the front fascia and grill off to swap the radiator. Also, my 2000 doesn't have an aux trans cooler or a power steering cooler, just the A/C condenser that can be unbolted from the radiator and left in place once you release the rad from it's mountings. Don't get me wrong, this is a total PITA to do, but is not as involved as the writeup suggests, and will probably draw a little blood from sharp edges! My WJ has an electric fan, not the hydraulic one so only has a 2 wire plug to disconnect.

Go to wjjeeps.com for a little help doing this.

Sorry, I just checked the site and there isn't anything on rad removal.

The point I was trying to make was it's not necessary to remove the front fascia and grill to get the radiator out. The grill backing is part of the headlight mounting panel so you have to remove all that crap if you do it that way. You also don't have to open the A/C system and remove the condenser either.

I can't agree with you more! Someone here on the forum was asking about how to change a headlight on a 2012 or something like that. Come to find out the whole front fascia had to be removed TO CHANGE A FREAKING HEADLIGHT!!!! They're after that engineer with torches and a rope!

My 2000 WJ is probably the newest car I'll ever own because I can still work on it myself! Sort of!
