Project 'Pane in the ***
Here is one completed project from the shop.. It now sports a hopped up 8HP briggs that is, jetted, piped, and has a milled down head to bump up the compression ratio. I am in the process of making an intake pipe to accept a cone K&N 4 wheeler air filter too.. It mows quite well and doesnt flex too badly..
Here's a poser shot!

Well last night i got the front sway bar off completely.. I took the driver side engine mount out. I also managed to start making a really slick engine lift plate for the LS1, it bolts in place of the valley cover and has 4 different places to pick up from.. so you can balance it however you want..
Progress is slow until i get my adapter and or fuel/harness stuff. Going to be out of town this weekend though so dont expect any updates..

Well i officially love the UPS man.. He delivered the adapter and the fuel rail and injector setup all at once!
I bolted up the adapter, and bellhousing, and then opened the fuel rail box to find a set for an LT1
The guy had shipped the incorrect ones, but i contacted him and he is now sending the right ones..
Guy is a good guy, just got confused.. You'll have that.
Well i will get the engine bolted together with the trans tonight and hanging in the correct location so i can attempt to make a set of mounts..
Will post pics tonight..

Correct.. That is the long term plan.. Im going to freshen up the short block on the 5.7.. assemble it and run it in the jeep for a while to break it in and make sure everything is working properly in the jeep.. I will then (over the winter) pull the 4.8 out of my truck and place on stand.. Remove the heads (same number heads as a Z06) and have them ported, port the plastic truck intake, prep the truck for the headers, and install the stall torque convertor.. then i can pull the 5.7 out of the jeep, install the heads from the truck 4.8 the truck intake and all the necessary truck "tins" and then put the 5.7 in the truck, and in turn swap the 4.8 (305 hp) into the jeep..
I know that is alot of swapping but i dont wish to do the swap in the truck right now, i cant afford to be without the truck for too long.. My el camino isnt the best daily driver.. If i build the short block, run it in the jeep for a while to ensure that it is healthy and such, then i will not feel so badly about pulling the truck apart.
So i will end up with a 450 HP truck to pull my 305 HP jeep with..
