It'll be really easy. I will cover, seal, and label any plugs I don't use and zip tie them out of the way. Once that is done just use the wires that come with the aftermarket gauges.
If you think about it, since my dash is out it will be easier to do. All those folks you've seen with gauges and switches installed all over, they had to work around what the factory put in. I will have nothing in my way, and plenty of real estate to mount them.

Did some more work over the weekend. I got lazy and didn't take pics, even though I really should have.
I mounted the exhaust finally. I found the studs on the exhaust manifold to be really badly rusted. Only one of the two nuts work anymore, so I will need to address that very soon.
Not sure what I'm going to do, though.

I also had to take a hammer to a section of the down pipe. The yoke was slapping the tube since they are so close. It still rubs a bit, but only when I make right turns and the truck is flexed a bit.
I will try and get a pic when its all done.
For now though, I will say the glasspack is a bit of a disappointment. Not very loud, hopefully it will relax a bit with use.

Finally wrapped up the fender (quarter)and cut and fold. Didn't get any picks while doing it, but got a quick one after.
I will still need to weld all the seams, but that will be later on.

Very nice! I think I'm gonna do the same thing to my rear quarters. I found a rust hole I can put a golf ball through, and that looks like a good fix.

You don't trim it all off, though. Be careful, unless you want to get some extra metal and weld it in place.
Eventually my rear bumper will have a brace that goes right under there, and that will tie into my exo.
And thank you very much, by the way. I appreciate it. I love this thing, I put a lot of hard work and thought/plan into it. Like I've said before, just wait til I'm "done."

Can you give more detail about what you did on the rear quarters? If it isn't a simple cut or cut/fold, I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

You can see some detailed pics on page 8 of this thread, or look on 96_XJs build, his helped me with what I didn't get. There are also write ups out there with good pics I have seen.
Basically you trim the bottom couple inches of the fender, separate the inner and outer fender from the plate that's under the tail light housings, separate the inner and outer fender from the wheel well, fold in the inner fender, fold in the outer fender, trim off the back plate that was mentioned earlier, then seal everything up.
