Looks beefy, but for the kind of wheeling Im into I would rather have smaller tires with much more travel. Just curious, what axles are you running in that bad boy?

Well out to the driveway to lay in the cold and finish my x member. Ordered my 6.5" bds coils today. Almost ordered the Fox shocks, but I better get rid of a few more extra parts before I order 600 bucks worth of shocks!

The way I am setting this up I hope to be able to run it as 9.5" lift or 6.5" lift, with a quick change of the upper link. Im going 9.5" for now and see how it rides and flexes. I have a set of zero mile 35" bfg's im gonna steal from the YJ also.

how will a different upper link allow you to change 3" in height "quickly"?

I made a spare upper link, if I need a shorter one. I can't see me not liking the larger lift. But just in case.

Got some more work done one the x member. I cut out notches for it to fit snug against the frame. I want to keep it as high as I can, so it wont get caught up on things.

Here they are all notched out and sanded smooth, next ill drill holes to both to frame. I took this opportunity to throw a few stitch welds on the inside.

just some advice... relying on threads to twist isnt a great idea. sand and grit gets in there and the threads get ruined over time or they seize up if you let them sit long enough without movement. also, the threads will only twist one way. a spherical joint twists every way. its hard to explain in words, but when flexing and one side drops it gets pulled back a bit and puts some misalignment on the joints/ bushings in more ways than you think. you will likely be alright, but might be wearing out the bushings a lil quicker than normak. also, i never reccomend bushings for a 3 link due to axle wrap/hop reasons.hokay! im done methinks!

Thank, you. I feel that I have engineered this so it should work well. I do agree about sand and such in the threads. But I will coat the threads with a HD anti seize, and the threaded pcs are anodized so they should be good in regards to corrosion. And with one tire flexed and the other stuffed it should only rotate the threads about 40 degree from stagnant. So with that small of a thread rotation I think it should operate smoothly. And like I said before, this isn't normal all thread, there on steroids. I put one in the press just for the hell of it(40 ton) and it wouldn't even hardly booger the threads.

I will be using a prothane bushing in the end of it, so between the give that has and the twist of the thread, it should be a pretty good substitute for a rod end. And i made em, and have 5 spares I already made. So im good to go.

And im not sure how simply using a bushing will create wheel hop? I will have a good Fox shock to keep the axle planted
