Thanks, I forgot to mention to replace center caps and keep shims in order. Luckily mine had no shims. On my welds I just heated the cast all over since I was doing alot of welding on it. I just used a rosebud torch tip. Not too hot, just still the moisture is gone and the oil on the inside begins to smoke. Then weld it and let it cool naturally.

I got lazy and diddnt get any re assembly pics. But the carriers in. Brakes rebuilt. I painted the calipers and things pimp blue to match the truck and am about 1/2 done with a 5/16 ss diff cover. Got the rod ends painted, 4 coats of clear makes em look nice, almost store bought.

Dont need a fill plug on an 8.8. Fills from the front of the casting. After I catch up on my projects I may try to make some. But im driving/wheeling this jeep to Maine June 2 nd and im no where close to ready.

I ordered some bds coils but then cancelled the order. I couldn't decide the exact height I wanted. I picked up four 6" tj skyjacker coils for a hell of a deal on CL last night. They have a rate of like 182# so they should ride nicely. I've got the skyjacker leaf packs on the YJ and they ride great.

Is this build still active ? If so i am subscribed ... I Like the rear diff cover , and the fact that you built it makes it even more interesting ... What did the 8.8 come out of ? I am looking for one for a TJ project i am working on ..
