Spent a solid 1.5-2hrs in the garage after work today.

Got the axles in, hubs on, shocks in, track bar set, pinion angle/caster set, everything greased/torqued and filled the front diff.

Only things left on the front end is get the alignment close, torque the steering and bolt on the brakes.

In the rear all I have left is to move my shackles back one hole, torque everything, adjust the e-brake and bleed the brakes.

Getting close!!! Also waiting on the side tie in brackets for my 3-link crossmemeber. Don't want to take it out or drive it without those installed.


Couple quick pics. Wound up setting the arms to get about an inch of stretch in the front over stock. Should help the approach angle and make things a little more stable with the slightly longer wheelbase.

It's really comin' together nicely man. I love that CAVFAB long arm conversion.

That wheel placement looks great. An inch forward was a nice move. And everything looks so shiny and new! I'm dismantling most of my front end, maybe I should refinish everything? Wire brush and paint the knuckles?

Found it, Post 165: "Got the knuckles drilled out to 5/8 for the heim steering, then super clean & wire wheel to get them nice n clean. Primed them with some self etching primer and painted. They look purdy now."

I just sprayed them with some degreaser, washed them off. Then used a wire wheel on an angle grinder to clean them up a little further. Sprayed with self etching primer then a top coat.


Doesn't take very long, not sure how well it will hold up but it makes everything look a lot cleaner. Only thing I didnt clean up or replace are hubs or axle shafts.

I promise I'm not being lazy... I went back 20 pages but still couldn't find what size coils and shocks you're running, but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before....

Hm.... how much bumpstop do you have? In theory im going to run 4.5 coils with 12" travel bilstein 5100s

Still haven't received the tie in brackets for the crossmember. Tuesday will be 2 weeks since I received the arms and everything, talked to Dave @ cavfab on wednesday the 19th and he said he would send them out.

Man, really hope this doesn't continue to be the standard with Donovan and Dave. I know they're slammed, and trying to work out some issues with the new shop, but I really thought they would have gotten everything back on track at this point.

I bet he has Bilstein 24-185943. I just ordered these to work with the Cavfab Alpha series on 5 inch lift.

The shipping confirmation was only saying they made a label it hadn't shipped yet.
