Mine showed up today too except mine came with the side brackets. Still no instructions or the shirt it is supposed to come with. The axle side upper control arm bushing looks like its not going to be fun to swap out, otherwise the kit should be pretty easy and straight forward to install.

I don't think it will be too bad if you have a ball joint press. Wonder why currie wouldn't use a C-clip to retain that axle side insert. Although maybe it won't be too bad.

Glad you got your kit. I didn't get a shirt or directions in mine either, seems to be pretty straightforward, although some tips or pointers never hurt. Ha

The currie joint for the upper link is a press fit. Put it in the freezer overnight before install. Will help it go in and still be a nice fit, but will make an even tighter fit once it warms back up.

Ball joint press like you mentioned is good. Should push the rubber straight out, then ya just gotta bang that sleeve out.

Great tip.

I was thinking the same exact thing. I have the old flex joint out already, just used a cold chisel and collapsed the metal, came out pretty easy. I'll freeze the new Currie joint and heat the axle housing a little bit if necessary.

Made some minor progress this evening after work.

Pressed in the UCA Joint into the axle housing. Ball joint press made quick work of it. I threw the joint in the freezer for a couple hours, not sure if that helped much or not.

Also got the links cleaned up, prepped and sprayed in some self etching primer. They will get painted tomorrow.

Lastly I put my pitman arm in the drill press and drilled it out to 5/8 for my heim steering. (No pics, sorry)

Did you ever get an update on your side brackets? I'm still waiting on my links, still don't even have shipping confirmation or tracking #.

Dave called me after I sent him an e-mail, said he would get a set shipped out to me.

Send him an email, he's usually pretty good at responding within 24 hours.

You're right, he has usually responded pretty quick when I've contacted him before. I'm not really in a hurry, but I emailed him for an update anyway.

Did you use the charcoal metallic paint for yours? I like it, that's what I'm doing mine with.

Yeah im using the same paint. Its a good looking color, a little more interesting than plain black.

I plan on getting the links painted today and start bolting everything up if its not too late by the time they dry.

Lunch time update.

Got the links painted, going to try to start assembling tonight.

First time the axle will be under the jeep since December.

The color choice is awesome! Should be a nice sight to see that thing with an axle under the front of it.

It's official!!!

The jeep is back on its own weight. Got the axle in, everything bolted up including the knuckles and steering. I still have to go through and tighten all the bolts fine tune everything, set the pinion angle, etc....... but, there's no more jack stands under the frame.

Couple mock up shots of her new look, this is how it will sit at ride height. The back is a little low but I need to move the shackles back one hole now that it's on it's full weight and no jack stands under the frame.
