I aint scurred.

Another buddy of mine bought an xj last week. My 2 blazer loving buddies in our offload group absolutely hate that the xj army is growing.

This is why our blazer buddies hate the jeeps, they always wind up getting pulled out by them.

Those are 38" boggers by the way.

My Buddy luke approves of yet another blazer getting pulled out. Friend of ours does vinyl decals. "Blazer recovery team" decals are in the works.

Ive done a lot of research for quite a long time before finding the right deal and actually buying the jeep. Up until around 6 months ago I was traveling for work and never home to build, let alone use a jeep (toy). So I've been trying to pick my mods wisely and do things right the first time. Its been a learning process but I'm happy with the progress so far.

But, I still have axle envy. If my rig turns out close to as nice as yours, it will be a success in my book.

We definitely have similar tastes. Your build is way nicer than mine at the moment. Mine is just a pile of parts and dreams right now. And thanks about the axles, I still just walk through the garage and stare at them sometimes lol.

Maybe I missed it, but what shocks are you going with?

Bilstein 5100's, 12" travel variety.

Was going to run some resi's but I think for the kind of driving and use my rig will see the 5100's will be sufficient.

These are exactly my thoughts. I keep getting tempted with some 7100s or 2.0s with resi's, but I'm trying to tell myself I don't need them. 5100s are perfect for what I plan on.

If you were planning on running higher speed, whoops, etc where the extra volume would help, i'd say go for it. For slower speed trails, rock crawling, etc I feel like the 5100's will be fine.

Exactly. 5100s are where I need to be. At least until I run them thru the floor in the rear. Then maybe I'll splurge

If youre going that far, might as well run coilovers. Its not much more work than running shock towers in the rear.

Always trying to find excuses to buy parts I don't need

Trust me. I've thought about this one as well, but I think I'll be able to convince myself not to do this. I kinda would like to retain the originality of the XJ on this one and keep the leaf springs. Next build after this is going to be a dedicated crawler. I'll save the coilovers for that one.

Lol
I'm in the same boat. I can give an "excuse" for everything I've bought.

The fact that it's torn down is a quality excuse!
