Repainted my cav fab steering. It got a little scraped up during shipping and from sitting in my garage. Can't have it looking used when I reassemble the front end.
All purdy.
Better picture of the color. It's a charcoal metallic.
It seems like the paint is pretty thin, if it chips off ill just re-spray it with some implement paint. Its bound to get scraped and chipped I'm sure. Doesn't take away from the quality of the components though.
Exactly my thought. If I bought parts for their look over function I would own a TJ
The grinding was actually my exhaust rubbing on the rear driveshaft I did have a small chip out of one of the spider gears though but it didn't seem to bad so I just sealed it back up

Buddy came over tonight, got the rear axle out in about an hour. No broken leaf bolts, no broken upper shock bolts, everything came off great. Going to start on the rear HDO stiffeners this week.
Making progress, will definitely need longer rear brake lines.
My stock injectors were in pretty bad shape, when I first got the jeep I did cap, rotor, plugs and wires. That swap induced a misfire, was completely unrelated to the ignition and I beat my head against the wall chasing firing order, possibly a defective cap/rotor, etc.
I finally pulled the electrical connectors to my fuel injectors and they were all corroded to the point I couldn't even get a resistance measurement with my multimeter when I was checking them. I cleaned the terminals the best I could and regained continuity but ultimately they were in need of being replaced before it became a reliability issue.
While the jeep is in the garage torn down I'm addressing some items such as those to increase reliability.
That's another one of my favorite mods. For me it was a VERY noticeable difference in throttle response, maintaining highway speeds on stock gears, and MPG

From the sounds of things, we have very similar XJ taste. Lol
Ive done a lot of research for quite a long time before finding the right deal and actually buying the jeep. Up until around 6 months ago I was traveling for work and never home to build, let alone use a jeep (toy). So I've been trying to pick my mods wisely and do things right the first time. Its been a learning process but I'm happy with the progress so far.
But, I still have axle envy. If my rig turns out close to as nice as yours, it will be a success in my book.
