This is what consumed most of my morning. I crew chief for a friend who's races paved oval. He came by and wanted to build some jack stands for the race car.

Slapped these together with a bunch of the steel I got for free. They are fixed height at 13 inches which we have deemed the perfect height. Should be plenty strong and they are stackable so they take up less room in the enclosed trailer.

Picture of the car.

Got a nice seat out of a 2008 ford fusion for free. Going to see if I can make it work for the jeep and fab up a bracket. Its in great shape, just needs to be cleaned up a little bit.

If I can make it work I can get the matching passenger seat as well. Its power to move forward and back but everything else is manual.

We run dirt too. Actually just sold one of the dirt cars and are back on asphalt.

The owner of this car's son is autistic. He's the coolest kid in the pits.

Let me know how those seats work out. I have a friend who has an 08 Fusion that I can probably get the seats from. If it's not a whole lot of fab to make things work, and they are a quality upgrade, I may ask you to hook me up with a set of brackets, if you'd be so kind!

Ill take some pics and mess around with it this weekend. Shouldnt be too difficult but I havent even measured to see if the width will fit between the console and the door.

Probably just make a simple adapter plate out of some angle iron. Will definitely keep you posted.

Too good of a deal to pass up.

They dont look too wide to fit. I will take a measurement of how wide mine are tonight. They pretty much rub the center console and door.

I believe 22 inches is stock width, I might mess with them when I get the seat home tonight.

I mocked it up a little bit tonight, definitely a very tight squeeze but it will fit. Going to build an adapter plate that bolts on to the bottom of the new seat and will bolt into the factory track.

I tacked one up tonight and then came inside because I was getting hangry.

This fusion seat is completely flat bottomed, the XJ seats are curved, going to take some creative work to get it to bolt up, but definitely doable.

I'll post some pics tomorrow of how far I got. Got it clamped to the base I made and put it in the jeep, the height/angle felt good.

Ya I had to raise the back of my seat 1" over the front. My seats had a flat bottom too. Not sure if your seat mount is the same as mine though.

Yours is a 99 right?? The seat bases changed in the 96+.

With some basic fab skills and a welder you can just about make anything work as long as the seat isnt too wide/tall.

At a stand still until I get my OTA track bar kit and 3 link. So I cleaned up the garage a little bit and got the welding table put inside. Need to wire wheel the whole thing and get it all nice n purdy.

Garage floor is cleaner again, there was grinding dust everywhere! Spent an hour with the shop vac
