So yesterday was a pretty good day.
A forum member (CherokeeJon) came over and brought a set of ZJ seats. He helped me put on the old XJ brackets on the ZJ seats. It is really comfortable compared to the old ones! And as a bonus I get extra storage (kangaroo pockets on the back of seats) and headrests.

The XJ seat frames are direct bolt in on the ZJ seats, which made it a really easy swap.
Didn't liked the color but it look ok for now, seat covers will be happening someday.

Then later that day, another forum member (Wolfmann) came over and helped me complete my steering. (I helped him do his).
I started by taking everything out, all the linkage, steering damper, etc. Torched out the old track bar bracket and cut off the sway link mounts.
Then I drilled the knuckles and the pitman arm to 3/4 inch. That way I can use 3/4 grade 8 bolts on them.
Did some mock up, and then burned on the ruffstuff panhard bracket. Using 3/4 Heims and I welded up my leftover DOM tubing to use as my panhard bar.
My RockKrawler frame bracket was too skinny to fit in the Heims so I decided to cut off one leg and welded a new piece on it so it's 2 inches wide enough to accommodate the 2 inch wide heim (with misalignment spacers).
Need little more adjusting and reinforcing here and there, but overall it felt much better than the factory set up.

I haven't done much to this jeep in a while due to other jeep projects... Now the other jeep is up and running, and enlisted for DD duty, I have more time to devote to this...
I just bought this set of quarter armor from Down n Dirty offroad in Reading PA.
I'm gonna build set of rear tube flares and incorporate them into the armor.

If you're gonna replace the seals then start hitting it with chemicals. Scrub it down with degreaser and carb cleaner for a start.
Why though? It has a higher low range than the NP231. I get that they're strong but they don't even directly match up to AW4s, right? Unless you're hooking it up to a turbo hydromatic trans which means V8 swap...

I'm gonna mate the D300 behind the NP231 to build a doubler.
