So I decided to get started on the doubler build.
Took the 231 apart.

Took out the vent tube and tapped the hole to 1/4 NPT and used a brass plug. I know I could weld and fill in the hole but I decided to do something different.

Took it to the bandsaw and sliced the unseeded portion off.

Grinded the 4h indent off the range plate.

Shaped the block off plate to fit the contours of the case.

Made the template for the adapter plate out of steel. My adapter plate will be aluminum though.

That's pretty much it for this week.
I ordered aluminum plate to make the adapter plate today, so it should arrive in couple of days, then, I ll be cutting it to shape.

I'd take em to a machine shop and have em sand blast them and check em out. Since they where free it'd be a good deal if they are...cheapest I can find a crank around here is $100 and I gotta pull it.

yea pretty much I gotta do that. I have had few people tell me that it ll cost more to have it machined than buying another clean crank.

Machining is never cheap. Was the most expensive thing about my stroker build. I call it piece of mind though. At least you know it's been done properly....oh ya, and warranty if not lol

Well this morning I came to work early and finished up the block off plate (drill and tap it to match the thread pitch of other holes on the t case).
Welded it to the casting and ground the welds down smooth. I prefer the clean look of it anyway.

I'm probably gonna paint the t case yellow to match my engine.
