Oh got it. I haven't filled the engine up with fluids yet... I'm broke at the moment, cause I found out my left hub bearing went bad on my black jeep, so I had to go out and buy the hub.

My plan is to flush the engine and the core separately before even starting the jeep.

Maybe if I'm bored enough, I might be willing to replace the core just for giggles

It still look new and shiney. The PO mentioned that it's the second head, the original head cracked at 115k miles and he had it replaced... Lol.

I'm not sure what u mean by my heat?
Just the outside of the plugs, see how they look. Sometimes you can see rust coming through before they leak. I just changed the ones on the side of the block under the manifolds.

This was my leaker

Ah. No rust on the block surrounding the plugs or any indication of leaks. In fact they looked like they were installed yesterday lol. So clean

how do you plan to install it? it doesn't look like there's enough room to drill a hole through the DOM and run it like t-link. that kit is made for knuckles that are set up for true crossover. go with the 7/8x3/4 heim setup

Yeah I decided not to go with this kit.

I would like the heim set up but unfortunately they aren't street legal here in Pennsylvania.
I know a couple of mechanics who could pass me but one is like 90 miles away and another one is in South Philadelphia, still like 35-ish miles away. Lol

Replaced the valve cover gasket and put on the yellow valve cover this morning.

Took the old valve cover and put it on the silver xj, and finished up the engine.

Now I need to put the belt on, fill up with fluids, and buy a new battery. Then I can finally start it up and see if all my hard work is up to par.

Is optima yellow tops still a good brand or did the quality drop lately? I was thinking of getting one for my xj because I will be getting a free winch next weekend.

Can anyone tell me why the splines on the axle shaft blue? Did it heat up while running on bad bearing?

I heard that optima batteries have been failing after a month or two.I heard that they were bought out in 2000 and moved their manufacturing to mexico to keep up the demand and quality control went to crap..but they have a warranty.but i wont ever buy one

Mine has been great for three years. Made in Mexico.
There is a coupon for Advance Auto that is $30 off an $80 purchase.

Not sure about the blue splines.

Did you replace only one bearing? When I replaced mine there appeared to be nothing wrong with them until I removed one, held it in my hands and turned the bearing. I could feel a slight grinding but could not hear it.
After replacing both bearings I dropped 50-100 RPMs on the highway!
If you question the other bearing use a temperature gun on it after running the highway.

I had a forum member Wolfmann, ride with me and listen to the jeep while I drove. He specifically said the left bearing was shot and said it sounded really bad, he described it as "dry grinding". He also shined a flashlight and showed me that the left have chunk of grease coming out of the seal, while the right one is still clean.
