I also have a 93 2wd that i picked up for super cheap and want to convert.
It has a stock rear axle and a dana 30 up front. Are these compatible to slap the tranny and transfer case on? I found a donor jeep down at the JY that I want to use.

Congrats! Hey, as far as the tranny goes, do you definitely have to swap it out or are you able to remove the tailshaft and bolt up the tc? Because I noticed my tranny has a removeable tailshaft on it. Also, do you have to get a different driveshaft or are they the same lengths?
I too became a cherokee fan by accident after my brother-in-law bought a CJ, convinced me to sell my pickup truck, and then wound up with a 2wd 92 cherokee laredo at a stolen price for 1500 bucks (the guy wanted 2500, the blue book says it's worth about 2100). At the price I got it at, and the condition it's in, it's totally worth it for me to convert it over.

far as i know you can't use the 2wd trans i heard at one time there was a adapter to convert a 2wd trans but it was like 300 bucks and i didn't spend 300 on my 4wd aw4 and 231tc lol so yea i would look to get a 4wd trans and tc together to make it easy there is to different trans out put spline counts (21-23) so i would if you could get the trans and tc together
and yes the rear drive shafts are different between 2wd and 4wd
