well i finally got my trans and t-case today it was dark when i got so i didn't take any pics but i will saturday when i get to cleaning it up and what not plains call for:
sye kit
new pan gasket and filter
new trans coolent line

k well it was pretty nice here today so i got some work done not as much as i would have liked but anyway some got done i took off all my crapy molding that was half way hanging on and repainted my rockers it looks alot cleaner to me without the molding

put in the t-case shifter now to get the rest of in

its not that bad finding the parts is harder than the work if u dont have a complete donor jeep with you to pick parts from which is what i would have done but i live in the city
Howdy from jeepforum.com, I registered an account on this site soley to follow your progress on this project as I will be doing a similar job on my 01 xj sport. When you do the actual install of the tranny and t-case do you mind taking lots of pictures and explain what you did well? I am a fairly lazy person myself so I understand if you don't want to bother with it.
Also, what benefit do you get from swapping the rear axle? Or did you only do it because it already had the rough country lift on it?

Howdy from jeepforum.com, I registered an account on this site soley to follow your progress on this project as I will be doing a similar job on my 01 xj sport. well im humbled and at the same time wondering why you u follow my build but its cool if me swaping my jeep over will help others out with it im all for it yes i plain on taking a good bit of pics with the trans swap im waiting on parts to come in for my sye once i do it the swap will be on the benefit for me swaping rear axles was going from a 27 spline 8.25 to a 29 spline 8.25 which is stronger i want a d44 but the 29 spline will do for now i wish the weather would be better i got alot of work to do ive planed a wheeling trip to blackrock in april

This build is looking good man. Hope it keeps going this smooth for you. I almost got a 2wd for dirt cheap, and thought of converting it cause I can get the axles cheap. But I would have been doing it on a manual not an auto. I ended up with a 99 cherokee sport 4x4 though for almost the price of the 2wd one which was a 91, so not complaining there. I'm just waiting on work to start going good so I can fund my build. Keep up the good work though, and I'll be watching the progress!

thanks man yea i know what u mean when i had to money to buy stuff i couldn't find what i wanted and when i found something i didn't have the cash keep an eye out on craigslist and pull-a-part has been a good friend lol yea dude u being close and all holler at me if you need some help finding anything or doing the swap
