I'm tempted to do this with my '93. Good examples of 4x4s around here go for at least $4-5k, but I can pick up a 4x4 with a bad motor for ~$600-900. Plus my '93 has -no- rust on it.

Nice looking Jeep!

Wow, that is stripped out! But hey, look, no rust!

Gonna do the rhino-liner interior?

well 100 annoying noises and the heat from the drivetrain will boil the blood in your body.

I dunno, that rubberized rhino-liner will probably do a good job of insulating the driver's compartment. I had that stuff on my old Dakota's bed, you could thump the underside of the bed with a hammer and it would only sound like a muffled clunk on the other side.

Might be following in your footsteps here, peppers. Just went and looked at a donor vehicle for mine. 70k less miles, been parked since October. Scary as hell to drive since the frame is rotted out of it and the front end bushings are shot. If I pull the trigger, I'll be swapping it's full drive line into mine (engine, tranny, axles).
