You my friend have inspired me to fix mine. I'm having somewhat of the same problem with mine, except it has not broke yet it's just rusting apart, i'm goign to have to fab. a complete piece or just buy one. But man that looks great! Thank you for showing me it can be done.

My son in law gave me his 97 XJ that he bought new . It was headed to the scrap yard under its own power when asked me if I wanted it. Well hell yeah I want it ! Yep, it's a Yankee rig , good ol western ny and their prehistoric way of dealing with the white stuff almost claimed another victim. Rusted kick ups rear spring mounts , rockers etc but it runs , drives great. Plus it's a 2dr 4.0 . 4wd se model,

Going to hunker down and fix this this thing , keep you posted.

Thanks for the inspiration green XJ95, not too far from you .

Its gone....
I'm glad they don't salt the roads here in CA.
Tip: if you live on a coast, or drive salted roads, take a few minutes to pressure wash your undercarriage every week.
Its cheap preventative maintenance.
Even better would be a warm water, and ammonia (windex) or strong
detergent solution in the pressure washer.
Same reason you clean your firearm thoroughly after using cheap surplus ammo.
