I need some pointers here. i have another jeep exactly the same as this one BUT its 2wd. So should i cut out the bad section in the pics and cut out the exact section off the other jeep?? or just weld this up and try to get it back in place?

Just transfer everthing to the 2wd

There is not much you can do there actually. Even if you manage to put that back in place and weld it, you'll never get it straight and probably the other side is not much better.
I hope you don't take kids with you in that trap. That leaf spring mount is pushing right where the rear seats are, and i wouldn't be amazed to see it going through the crappy sheetmetal and say "hello" in your jeep one day, maybe after hitting a ditch.

2x for transplanting front axle and TC on 2wd.

WOW. :hang: Seeing that makes me want to run home and get my uni body stiffeners welded on right now. That's rough man, transfer it over.

Unibody stiffeners would not have prevented that. That is a rust issue, and being that it is located on the leaf spring support, your best bet is to get another Jeep going, sorry, but that is really bad!!

hey if u do scrap that jeep i want it or parts and yeah thats bad my buddy is siting here saying yeah we can fix that lol i dont think it would hold up in the trails

I realize that, just knowing for my sake there's something underneath holding my tin can together other than just... well, tin. I have already had to plate where my steering box bolts up do to stress cracking, and I was running a steering box brace. Welcome to the world of XJ's where frames do not exist.

Did some talking around and this is whats going to happen.
First i have to get my hands on a cutoff wheel
Im going to take some very good measurements
Then im going to cut out this section in the pic(thats the only bad part on the unibody)
Then cut out the good section on the 2wd and weld it in place keeping the geometry stock and finishing it up by stiffening and adding some steel to weak points.


just for a quicky 4x4 stuff mounts up to 2wd????

bad idea just switch is all the other stuff you want to the 2wd yes it will bolt up! make sure you take that disaster to the scrap yard after you strip what you want off of it.

the job you want to do is more than just cut here weld here. you have to be precise. and if you dont know how to weld that good then i wouldnt even bother welding anthing on that unibody.

If the cancer is that bad there, it has to be in other places too. You can be looking right at it, and not even see it. I find a new spot every time I get under mine!! Now I know what I'll be doing this winter, and I was worried I would not have anything to do!! LOL!!
