Sounds louder by the alternator.

 

I didn't wanna start a new thread so here it goes: Yesterday i was wheeling and put it in 4wd. I had the lever pulled up and it felt like it had some play so i pulled it back a little more and after that it no longer engages in 4wd. If i try to put it back in 2 it grinds gears. And i can sit on the brakes and it still does it. The only way to put it back in 2wheel is to put it in neutral shut it off. Then put into 2 and start it up. Any suggestions ? I have a 231 tcase with sye

 

Ok because the np231 to go Into 4hi you only need to take your foot off gas peddle and pull lever I to 4hi and your in 4wd. As you go further you enter N and then 4LO. To engage and disengage 4LO you must put you tranny I to N hence the grinding. Try hitting all those things I just told you. If they all work perfect you good. Sometimes the shift linkage loosens and you can slip outta 4wd and some other stuff but try a complete thing first

 

does anyone have a clue where i can find the centering yoke for the cv joint in my front drive shaft? all i can find is a part number for a 84-94 cherokee
