Default Replacing all of the battery cables.

I bought some high end replacement cables for my 96xj sport. I have the rubber mold on mine. Will I be fine just hooking up my new cables with out a mold? I will have to make my own connection for the starter relay wire but other than that I should be fine right?

If you're talking about shrink wrap stuff... you don't have to have it but it is good.

Did you line up the belt as it was being tightened? Gotta rule out user error...
Yes, so I just pulley my power steering pulley forward and it didn't change the way it was riding on the idler, so now I am looking at the ac delete pulley. I am gonna pull it and put my old compressor back on and see what happens. If it is because of the ac pulley is it safe to throw some washers behind it?

Oh I don't think washers sound good but if I'm not mistaken you shouldn't be able to pull your pulley forward at all shouldn't have play in it.

I pulled the power steering pulley forward. Sure enough I put the old compressor back on and it lines up perfectly on my idler, FML. I purchased the ac delete pulley because I thought it might have been part of my chirping problem, but it looks like it just added to it. Going to Napa tomorrow to try and talk them into taking back.

Maybe its just a bad AC delete.

You could always get rid of you AC compressor and move the alt up there...

I have thought about doing this, but before I decided to do this I would want to convert to a dual efan setup, not diggin' how little contact that belt has to the mechanical fan pulley. My old compressor seems to be spinning just fine for now. I took the delete pulley off of its bracket and you can see where it has been grinding, it wobbles and it doesn't line up right so they better not have an issue taking it back. Not too impressed with napa parts lately, 2nd second water pump in two months and now this. I should have made sure it lined up when I first got it.

Sry to hear that. I always tell people look at whos manufacturing the part not selling it...

Yea I won't have a mech fan on the one I raise the alt on.
