Pretty easy when the cprrect electrical current is applied to it - if you're poking at it and trying to force it you've likely damaged it

So lightly pushing it it shouldn't move right?

I've moved my plunger a lil by hand and not damaged it. I'm hoping he hasn't forced it too much

You don't push the tip only pull back on the black shaft, no pun intended. Spray down with TB cleaner or seafoam Deep Creep. And carefully wipe with cloth. Also clean inside port with toothbrush and seafoam and spray inside the TB and the butterfly too

Hey guys, I have a question about the dual diaphragm brake booster upgrade.

I have an '88 XJ with stock brakes and stock pedal light switch. I know mine senses the pressure with the bolt that runs through the pedal to the rod on the booster.

Question is, could I just grab a dual booster, prop valve, MC and the brake pedal with switch from a '96 XJ and be good to go? I don't really want to fiddle around too much and be out of a Jeep for 3-4 days. Any help is greatly appreciated!

PS: This is what I was meaning... http://www.jpmagazine.com/techarticl.../photo_03.html

Do you have a stock cat? If so it could be clogged.

96xjclassic is having the same issue you are. And a clogged cat can cause this. If I come across anything I'll chime in

Yea, but this is kind of an all of a sudden thing I don't think it's the cat.

Default faulty O2 sensor wires??

so according to the guy i bought my cherokee off of, he had replaced both O2 sensors in the exhaust. The CHECK ENGINE light is illuminated on the dash, and it comes up with 2 codes that mean both of the O2 sensors are bad. I tested the sensor before the cat with a voltmeter, and it did fluctuate between millivolts (.02-.08-.02 ETC.), i thought it would be more like 0.1-1.0 if they are working right. could the wire that leads up to the ECM be faulty?? I am also experiencing a little misfiring at low RPMs. Anybody ever have this issue??

Clear the code then see if it comes up again
