Hi, all! So can anyone give me a lesson on how to read a bacon hose diagram. I understand done of it but I'm not a mechanic and parts of it are completely beyond my knowledge. Help!

So I think I ****ed up. I was putting my new head on after cracking the first one. And I used permatex ultra black rtv sealant between the block and the head gasket and again between the head gasket and the head. Now I friend of mine is telling I should have just used the gasket because it will just blow out. Is it really bad to use that or will I be ok? I've been reading all over the place and people seem to be using it. But I not sure. I don't want to do it wrong, but I also do want to undo 9 hours of work.

I've heard of some people using Permatex copper spray on metal head gaskets, but nothing on regular gaskets. It can cause problems by getting into the water jackets and oil passages.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement lower control arm bushings for fixed 4.5" LCA's from rough country? I called rough country and they don't sell them

Quardatec, check the site they carry rough country stuff. I hate the control arm bushings cuz brands are all iffy about their stuff. I have rubicon express and I had to special order them. Suckers are hell to get out.

Sounds crappy to me and I like Rough Country. I would call them back then and ask who makes theirs so you can know the company to call.
Then complain some more they may give you a new set all together lol.

Using the diagram below as an example, the black hoses are vacuum hoses, and the hoses that look white are for vapor or air. You simply follow the hose from the item you're checking to the other end. Don't look at the whole picture, just the hose you need to follow. Like anything, it takes practice.

I saw in your Profile what it stated you have. On Google I entered '85 Cherokee 2.5L Vacuum Diagram. That's what came up.
Haynes doesn't always have the best/most accurate info. You really need a Factory Service Manual.

I still don't understand what all of the abreviatons and letters mean any ideas where I could find a listing of what the stand for?
