no it has the 0630 head last year before it switched that was the first thing i checked i just dont know why it would start stalling out none of the pistons were clean like there was water in it. its blowing my mind right now just wondering what other way water would get in the oil

Basically it only changes the shift points of the transmission. In comfort mode it shifts up sooner, making the gear changes less harsh (at least in principle). IN power mode it waits till the engine reaches higher revs (in it's power band) before shifting up.
The only time you'll notice a difference is under gentle acceleration, and cruising on hilly highways.
I recommend leaving it in power mode. In comfort mode it makes the engine work harder and burns more gas if you're like me and like to press down on the accelerator more than a 1/2 inch...The later model XJs without the power/comfort switch are permanently in "power" mode because of this.

If your gonna get new call a parts store and get a price on a v8 grand Cherokee setup. It's solid and won't bend as easy.
