New to me Jeep owner, 2000 Cherokee Sport 4.0. When I first apply brakes at high speeds vehicle violantly shakes really bad. If I stay on brakes as it slows it goes away. I don't notice it at slower speeds 45mph or less. Haven't removed wheels yet to look at brakes closely but through wheel appear fine and rotors don't feel groved or anything. Any ideas??? Could tires cause this?

Default Front Diff. Vaccume line

I have a 1991 XJ, and crawled under it and noticed what looks like a vacuum line that comes off the top of the front diff. and runs to a plastic vacuum line. it this truely a vacuum line ? or is it a vent ? it has driy rotted almost in half...any ideas as to what it is for ?

Thanks guys

Yep it's a vent. You can replace it with vac line or any hose. Good place run the other end of it is on the firewall in the engine bay - nice and hogh up so no water will get in.

A lot of things could cause that. Bad tires, bad tie rod ends, bad wheel bearings, bad caliper, bad stabilizer maybe. I'd say pull your calipers and see how the pads are wearing, they might not be contacting the rotor evenly. Rotate your tires while your at it.

Absolutely go with OME when possible. If you haul a lot of junk in the back you may consider the heavy duty springs. It will give it a rake upwards in the back when empty, but handling under load is very nice.

Hey Guys,

My 95 Cherokee has an issue on start up. When i turn the key of over to start it will fire up but as soon as i turn the key to the run position it shuts off instantly. No studder, just off. Ive cleaned up the grounds and i've got about 13vdc static on the battery. The wiring diagram in the Haynes maunal i have doesn't really give much break down on the "Run" circuit

4.0L Aw4 185K
Recent repairs include: new fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, cps, and full tune up. These were done over the course of the last year and the fuel pump being the most recent at 2000 miles ago.

Or you may start in Neutral as the local Jeep dealer suggested to me after they completed a recall on my '87, & it would no longer start in Park.
